Arzeda Raises $38M to Scale Protein Design for Sustainable Industries

Seattle startup Arzeda, a leader in protein design technology, has successfully raised $38 million in an oversubscribed funding round. This new capital, backed by investors including Sofinnova Partners, W.L. Gore & Associates and Fall Line Capital, will enable Arzeda to expand production of its innovative proteins and enzymes, particularly in its ProSweet line, which enhances the flavor of stevia.

The startup uses advanced artificial intelligence-based techniques to design proteins and enzymes that outperform existing products in sectors such as food, agriculture, materials and pharmaceuticals. Its technology focuses on sustainability, reducing environmental impact while delivering superior performance. With partners such as Unilever and AAK, the company is now in a position to bring its products to market on a global scale, pushing the boundaries of biotechnology for both consumer goods and industrial applications.
