Global employment platform Oyster has raised $59 million in Series D funding, bringing its valuation to $1.2 billion. This round, led by Silver Lake Waterman with participation from Emergence Capital, Stripes and others, brings the company's total funding to $286 million. Founded in 2019, they are at the forefront of the remote work boom, offering tools that simplify global sourcing, payroll and compliance for teams spread across 180+ countries.

Their platform is designed to help companies hire internationally with ease, providing compliant contracts, payroll and competitive local benefits, all while reducing the burden on internal HR teams. Clients such as Lokalise, Quora and Printify leverage Oyster to build sustainable cross-border talent strategies, attract top talent and ensure compliance throughout the hiring process.

The new capital will help them expand their platform, enhance compliance capabilities and improve their global sourcing solutions. Last year, the company introduced features such as Global Payroll, Visa Sponsorships and the Salary Insights tool, which provide companies with valuable information on fair compensation and streamline global operations.

Co-founder and CEO Tony Jamous highlighted the company's mission to democratize access to global employment opportunities, with the goal of creating a more equitable world through borderless hiring. As one of the few B Corp certified unicorns, they are committed to making human-centered employment a global standard.
